Green Energy for

Commercial • Industrial • Government

A number of case studies were done on The Powerhouse power conditioning system. Studies were done on institutional, commercial, and industrial facilities comparing energy usage and savings when The Powerhouse was installed and used compared to usage when The Powerhouse was absent.

The results showed an overwhelmingly big difference when The Powerhouse unit was turned on. The studies showed much more power was saved when The Powerhouse unit was present. These studies also revealed a savings in electric bills. Check out the tests that were done using The Powerhouse unit and notice the difference between facilities using the unit and those without it.

Case Study One

Champion Car Wash

Two car wash facilities were compared for this study. The graph shows the average electric bill compared to gross sales of both facilities before and after The Powerhouse system was installed. The first facility saw a 34% savings in electricity, while the other saw a 48% savings after The Powerhouse system was installed.

Case Study Two

General Electric

The following tests were conducted by General Electric (GE).

GE’s study found a 2.64 percent decrease in apparent power when The Powerhouse unit was used for an hour at a KFC franchise.

The same study also found a decrease of 2.78 percent in total current used when The Powerhouse unit was turned on at this particular KFC franchise.

Case Study Three

Industrial

Bekum Injection Molding

A heat reduction test was taken on the Bekum Injection Molder to show how much less strain their motors are under when The Powerhouse unit was used. The Powerhouse unit provided clean and consistent power to allow the Bekum Injection Molder’s three motors (the pump motor, top motor, and conveyor motor) to produce considerably less heat. The result is an extended life span for these motors because of the reduction of heat and strain.

The Bekum Injection molding machine was also the subject of an inline/offline test that ran constantly for 10 hours. The test looked at the KWHs usage by using an EMON meter. For the first five hours, The Powerhouse system was used on the machine. For the other five hours, the machine was turned off. The result was an average of 4 KWHs when The Powerhouse was on and an average of 6 KWHs when the machine was off. This is a savings of 33% when The Powerhouse is on.

These tests also showed that the installation of The Powerhouse system led to a reduction in bad parts or culls. There was a noticeable difference. Before adding The Powerhouse, the machine was averaging 14-16% bad parts. That number was reduced to 2% when The Powerhouse was used. The Powerhouse was able to condition the power to increase the efficiency of the machine.

Case Study Four

VI-JON Laboratories

The following test was conducted by General Electric

The GE-conducted study of The Powerhouse unit found a significant increase in Power Factor percentage. VI-JON Laboratories used The Powerhouse system for an hour and took 12 readings in five minute increments during that period.

The same study also found that Reactive Energy (VARc) was reduced 57% when The Powerhouse unit was on during a one-hour period with 12 readings taken in five minute increments.

These tests revealed that the power factor increased significantly with The Powerhouse unit on as opposed to off.

The test also showed that the Reactive Energy decreased significantly with the Powerhouse unit on for an hour as opposed to the hour it was turned off.
